PwC Isle of Man Strengthens Advisory Practice with Key Team Appointment and the Development of New ‘Sustainability and Climate Change’ Solutions
16 February 2024
PwC Isle of Man has welcomed Everitt Newton as an Advisory Manager to the team, leading on Sustainability and Climate Change solutions.
With a career spanning New York and London, Everitt relocated to the Isle of Man in 2023, and brings consulting experience and insights from working with international clients across financial services, real estate, utility, oil and gas, and manufacturing. He has worked on projects ranging from enhancement of shareholder and sustainability disclosures, policies and programs to developing climate and sustainability finance strategies.
Ferran Munoz-Lopez, Advisory Lead and Partner at PwC Isle of Man, said: ‘I am delighted to welcome Everitt to the PwC Isle of Man team. He brings significant capability and experience to our Advisory team in an important focus area for local and international clients who are being proactive in preparing for a sustainable future. The 27th Annual PwC Global CEO Survey identifies nearly one-third of CEO’s surveyed expect climate change to shift the way they create, deliver and capture value over the next three years - up from less than one-quarter who said as much regarding the past five years. We are well positioned to help our clients address the challenges and opportunities of the climate transition.’
The appointment of Everitt has paved the way for the development of the firm’s Sustainability and Climate Change solutions. Climate change is a rapidly evolving topic on boardroom agendas with businesses reacting differently to optimise their material drivers and preserve their value proposition in the long-term. The new solutions are aligned to PwC’s global strategy ‘The New Equation’ and part of a 5-year £1.5 million local investment launched in December 2021 to develop business areas including expanding actuarial services, enhancing cyber and sustainability capabilities, digitisation, upskilling our people, and transitioning to net zero with 2030 goals. The local team will support business in the areas of net zero transformation, sustainability reporting and sustainable finance.
Ferran Munoz-Lopez, Advisory Lead and Partner at PwC Isle of Man, added: ‘As a multidisciplinary firm this is an exciting addition to the services we can offer in the local marketplace. We recognise that organisations are all at different stages of their sustainability journey and our solutions can be tailored to specific business needs. We can help businesses define a sustainability strategy, help communicate sustainable change, deliver quality reporting and adapt sustainability actions as climate transition evolves.’
