Charterhouse Lombard Marks 30 Years in the Isle of Man

01 October 2025

Charterhouse Lombard, the privately owned trust and corporate service provider, is celebrating 30 years in the Isle of Man — a milestone that reflects its longevity and resilience in an industry shaped by constant change.

From its Douglas headquarters, where the firm now employs more than 30 people, Charterhouse Lombard has steadily expanded its international footprint. Two decades ago it opened an office in Dubai, which today plays a key role in serving a diverse global client base of private individuals, family offices, trusts and corporate entities.

The company attributes its sustained success to independence and a client-first philosophy. Free from external agendas or commercial pressures, it positions itself as able to act solely in clients’ best interests. That independence, combined with a flat reporting structure and a long-tenured team, has fostered a culture of responsiveness and stability.

Many of Charterhouse Lombard’s client relationships are multigenerational, something the firm says stems from its emphasis on integrity, discretion and bespoke solutions. Its guiding principles — independence, professionalism and long-term value — remain at the core of its operations three decades on.

Alongside its international reach, the company maintains a strong presence in the local community. It was among the sponsors of the KPMG Prom Relay in aid of the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group earlier this year, and has long supported Ramsey Youth Centre and Old Boys football club, sponsoring players’ kits for many seasons.

As Charterhouse Lombard reflects on 30 years in the Isle of Man, it points to the same foundations that have carried it through industry change and global uncertainty: independence, trusted client relationships, and a commitment to both its people and its community.

“30 years ago it was our mission to form a company that would be distinguished by its independence and integrity – a business that would have the client at the very heart of all that it did. I am enormously proud that, three decades on, Charterhouse Lombard is staying true to its roots and values, and we will always remain privately owned and privately funded.’

David Dean, Director and founder

‘I share David’s pride in the milestone that Charterhouse Lombard has achieved. Our commitment to operational excellence and bringing our core values to life remains undimmed. Despite the challenges of an increasingly competitive business landscape Charterhouse Lombard has always stayed true to its founding principles. Equally, though, we have been swift to embrace change, harness innovation, develop and expand our portfolio of services and, importantly, to be sensitive and add value to clients’ aspirations and goals. Our strategy is clear. We are pledged to maintain our business momentum and our drive for measured growth. We believe this to be not only a firm foundation on which to build the business but also genuine cause for celebration in this, our 30th anniversary year.’
