Nedbank appoints Karim Chowdhury as new Head of Private Banking

Nedbank Private Wealth is pleased to announce it has further strengthened its private banking proposition with the hire of Karim Chowdhury.
Chowdhury joins Nedbank Private Wealth as Head of Private Banking, Isle of Man from Union Bancaire Privée where he was Director of Private Banking.
He has more than 15 years’ experience in private banking and wealth management, having held senior positions in the UK, Channel Islands (Jersey) and Bermuda. His previous roles include Vice President – Private Banking at Butterfield Group and managerial appointments at Schroders Personal Wealth and HSBC Expat.
Based in the Isle of Man, Chowdhury will report into Simon Gibbons, Executive Head of Wealth Management, and will lead the local private banking team, focusing on relationship‑led support for the award-winning boutique private bank and wealth managers’ clients.
On his appointment, Karim Chowdhury, said:

Chowdhury joined Nedbank Private Wealth on 5 January 2026. His appointment is subject to FSA regulatory approval.
