KPMG in the Isle of Man is delighted to announce three new Partner promotions. Edward Houghton is promoted to Audit Partner, Kristan King to Advisory Partner and Robert Rotherham is promoted to Tax Partner, with all titles taking effect from 1 October 2020.

Edward Houghton has been with the Isle of Man practice since 2003 and has held the position of Director for the firm’s audit and advisory departments for the last 5 years, managing a varied audit portfolio and continuing to demonstrate expertise in capital market transactions and related governance matters. Ed is also responsible for leading the firm’s Real Estate sector on-island.

After spending time off-island on secondments, since originally joining KPMG in 1999, Kristan King re-joined the Manx firm in 2014 assuming the role of Advisory Director. He strengthened the Deal Advisory team and has subsequently assisted many local and overseas clients through transformational private equity and corporate transactions. Going forwards as Partner, he will continue to lead the Deal Advisory team and oversee the wider Advisory function comprising Restructuring, Risk Consulting, Data & Analytics and Digital Services.

Robert Rotherham’s former role of Tax Director gave him responsibility for a varied portfolio of both corporate and private clients and experience in a wide range of advisory matters, particularly relating to UK property, international tax planning and the Isle of Man’s Economic Substance rules. As Tax Partner he will assume responsibility for the local tax practice consisting of 13 tax professionals possessing deep expertise in many areas of both UK and Isle of Man corporate, private client and indirect taxes.

KPMG’s Senior Partner on the Isle of Man, Russell Kelly, commented, ‘It is always a pleasure to announce promotions within our team and to recognise the hard work and diligence of colleagues who are committed to providing an excellent service to our clients. Given the challenges we have all faced in recent months, it is great to be able to demonstrate our commitment to, and investment in, our local team here on the island. I congratulate all of them on their achievements and together we look forward to continue supporting clients across all the markets in which we operate.’
