Chief Minister Will Join Delegation Visiting South Africa

Isle of Man INDABA is a chance to engage with and understand the many opportunities the Isle of Man has to offer to individuals, families and businesses.

Finance Isle of Man is an Executive Agency; part of the Department for Enterprise within the Isle of Man Government and a member of INDABA is delighted to be part this visit to South Africa.

Isle of Man INDABA will host events in Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Stellenbosch from 25th October to 2nd November. This will be a chance for South African individuals, businesses and advisors to learn more about Isle of Man connections and the opportunities that exist for businesses, intermediaries and clients.

The Isle of Man INDABA will consist of a series of four events and will include discussions around how the Isle of Man can play an important role in; growing & internationalising your business, wealth planning and asset protection, family wealth and succession planning.

The Isle of Man is home to an award-winning financial and professional services sector that includes banking, fiduciaries, insurance, pensions and wealth management.

The Isle of Man offers business owners a gateway to internationalise their business, accessing global markets in order to expand and grow. There are an impressive variety of global companies and innovative sectors on the Isle of Man including; Finance, tech, Egaming, engineering and manufacturing. There are also new and emerging sectors, such as medicinal cannabis, bio tech and Esports.

The Isle of Man has strong traditions and a longstanding partnership with South Africa. As a leading international jurisdiction the Isle of Man’s stable and secure environment provides balance for business and individuals alike.

The association between the Isle of Man and South Africa is a longstanding one, with many South African companies choosing to operate from the Island. Familiar institutions across both jurisdictions include Nedbank, Standard Bank, Derivco and Microgaming.

The Indaba will offer attendees the chance to listen to and engage with panellists - including industry leaders from the Isle of Man and representatives from the Isle of Man Government - and network with experts from across the banking and finance sector.

The importance of South Africa’s relationship with the Isle of Man is demonstrated by the presence at the Indabas of the Isle of Man Chief Minister, Alfred Cannan.

Chief Minister of the Isle of Man, Alfred Cannan, said: “The Isle of Man has a longstanding relationship with South Africa, including across the financial services sector. I look forward to meeting with the South African business community to discuss how we can continue to strengthen our relationship and highlight the opportunities available for businesses between our two jurisdictions and in the global marketplace.

This will be an important opportunity to hear from the South African community about their business needs and I am delighted that the Isle of Man INDABA is visiting for the second time this year”.
