A senior Isle of Man advocate has been officially recognised as one of the world’s elite.

Annemarie Hughes, Head of Trusts, Pensions and Private Clients at DQ Advocates, has been listed in the 2019 edition of Legal Week’s Private Client Global directory – a list of the world’s elite lawyers advising high-net-worth clients.

The publication is a highly respected guide of the world’s premier private client, trusts and estates talent, as well as rising stars within the industry.

More than 6,000 entries were received last year and a similar number this time, although only 294 lawyers worldwide are recommended as ‘Global Elite’.

Annemarie, who has been invited to attend a gala dinner at Clothworkers Hall, London, in December to mark her inclusion, received a number of glowing testimonials before being selected.

These included recommendations from individuals within the global legal community and assessments based on overall experience, effectiveness and commitment to client service.

The directory is used by the legal community looking for referrals, family offices and professional advisers most revered by the Global Elite community.

Annemarie, who has been with the company since 2010, regularly advises high net-worth individuals and families, as well as working closely with local fiduciary and trust service providers.

She said: ‘I am naturally thrilled to be recognised in this way and it is a significant collective achievement and highlights the capabilities of the DQ team as we always strive to do the very best for our clients. Thank you to all of our clients and counterparts for their continued support and for taking the time to provide their feedback, it is extremely rewarding to receive their positive recommendations.’

DQ works with local and international trust clients, advising on all aspects of Isle of Man law.
